The Pininfarina Battista Targamerica is a 1,874bhp hypercar with no roof
Battista owner commissions a second electric hypercar. Gets a little giddy with the configurator
At Monterey Car Week 2023, a Pininfarina Battista owner put in an order for their second 1,874bhp electric hypercar, only this time they wanted it to come with a little more headroom.
The finished product has now been unveiled at the same event a year later, and it’d be fair to say Pininfarina listened to the brief. Yep, welcome to the completely roofless Battista Targamerica.
This is Pininfarina’s first one-off coachbuilt Battista, with the design apparently inspired by the 1986 Ferrari Testarossa Spider that was built for Gianni Agnelli to celebrate his 20th anniversary as chairman of Fiat. Bit better than getting a few messages of congratulation on LinkedIn, that.
The colours used on the special Battista are Argento Liquido Gloss and Iconica Blu Gloss, with the underside of the rear wing hand painted in stripes of both colours. The five-spoke wheels are a one-off set too, while the interior features tan leather seats and a contrasting black leather steering wheel and dashboard. Oh, and there’s also a bespoke cigar holder and humidor in there between the two seats. We’re told it has space for three cigars and is backlit to match the corresponding colours of the different drive modes. A highly important addition.
No word on whether said interior has been made waterproof – best not to take the Targamerica out in the rain, we reckon. Although we’d wager that with 1,874bhp, 1,696lb ft of torque and a 0-62mph time of less than two seconds, most standard Battistas probably don’t get out much when it’s wet anyway.
