Blink and you’ll miss it: new Maserati GranCabrio spotted
Drop-top version of the GranTurismo papped without camo for the first time
What’ve we got here then? That’s a rhetorical question, of course: it’s most obviously the new Maserati GranCabrio, pictured for the first time since our initial glimpse of the drop-top in October last year.
Only now the GranCabrio has dropped its camouflage wrap and is instead using some foliage to protect its modesty. Even so, we can still see that the front- and rear-end designs are pretty much identical to that of the GranTurismo.
Maserati hasn’t confirmed what powertrains will be used for the cabriolet version, and while the car above has exhausts (and therefore the GT’s 3.0-litre V6 in all likelihood) you can bet your house, life savings and priceless family heirlooms that there’ll be an electric Folgore version too.
In which case you can expect anything from 483bhp to 750bhp from the finished car; more than enough to tousle your hair on a trip to Tuscany.
We’re expecting to see the Maserati GranCabrio in full (and with no trees in the way) in a few months’ time, ahead of a global launch early in 2024.
When it lands it’ll be going up against the Bentley Continental GT Convertible and Aston Martin DB12 Volante, which rumour has it will be unveiled very soon at Pebble Beach…
