Not that Lexus has yet confirmed anything of the sort, of course, only describing the car that lurks ‘neath these shadows as ‘an exciting new open-air concept’ to be unveiled at California’s big motor show on November 19.
But, hey, what else could it be? The RC coupe launched last year, with Lexus bosses confirming at the time a convertible would follow soon after. An RC cabrio would give the Japanese firm an on-the-nose rival to not only that 4-Series convertible, but also Audi’s A5 cabrio.
An RC drop-top would likely be offered with the option of either Lexus’s 3.5-litre V6, and ‘300h’ hybrid powertrain, which conjoins a 2.5-litre four-cylinder and electric motor.
But an RC F convertible would be the one to really get excited about. A naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 with no roof to keep it from your ears? Here’s hoping…
