One car to rule them all? Get ready for the BMW M3 CS Touring
BMW takes to Instagram to confirm that an even hotter M3 CS Touring is nearly upon us
Big news if you’re into big boots and big horsepower: BMW has announced an M3 CS Touring is on its merry way.
“Fast is about to meet faster,” reads the Instagram caption that accompanies those images up above. And yes, the current M3 Touring really is quite fast, with 523bhp and 479lb ft of torque in the full-fat Competition spec that we get here in the UK.
In saloon form, the CS treatment ups the 3.0-litre turbo straight six’s output to 542bhp. That drops the 0-62mph time to 3.4 seconds and provides a top speed of 188mph. And it’ll be infinitely cooler as an estate.
From the camouflaged images BMW has revealed, we can see the Touring is poised to get the same aggressive front-end redesign as the four-door CS, while it looks like the rear end might have been left alone. Fine by us.
We’d imagine the CS Touring will get the new engine mounts, special suspension tuning and steering tune of the CS saloon, and we’d like to think BMW will find a way to shed at least 20kg from the standard M3 Touring. Consider the CS saloon gets a carbon fibre roof, bonnet and other aero bits, plus lightweight forged wheels, carbon bucket seats and a titanium exhaust backbox.
Wonder if the CS Touring will be available in the same Signal Green paint as the four-door? That’d certainly get you some kudos from the kids.
