Welcome to Brabus Island: a tuner’s vision of idyll

Yep, the maker of really very fast Mercs is getting into the luxury real estate game

Published: 01 May 2025

Do you run a side hustle making very expensive carbon fibre toilet seats? Well, we can only assume that business is about to boom, because Brabus is getting into the luxury real estate game.

Yep, what you see above are the plans for ‘Brabus Island’ – a 100,000 square metre island in Abu Dhabi where Brabus will design, build and furnish 350 apartments in four high-rise blocks, plus 100 ‘bespoke’ villas around the edge. Not sure they look that bespoke from the early artist's impressions, but perhaps we should stick to cars…

Brabus says that the homes are being created in the Al Seef District and the project is a collaboration with a company called Cosmo by Reportage Properties. It’ll break ground in summer 2025 with first handovers starting in early 2028. No word yet on whether you need a massively modified Mercedes or a Brabus boat to get on the list.

We’re told that the “architecture fuses contemporary, minimalist architectural silhouettes with the striking, progressive brand character of Brabus”. Right. Don’t expect it to be the most colourful place to live, though, as the ‘interior design approach’ for each home begins with one of three themes – ‘Black and Bold’, ‘White Bliss’ or ‘Gray Haven’.

Brabus wants you to ‘Live Brabusized’, which presumably means you need to adorn yourself with carbon fibre, wear massive shoes and shout as loud as you can at every opportunity.
