Who’s brought the best one-off livery to Singapore?
Like buses, three special liveries have turned up at once. Which is your favourite?
Right in the slipstream behind Mercedes and its Petronas-inspired livery, both RB and McLaren have unveiled one-off race skins for the Singapore Grand Prix this weekend.
You ready? First up is a denim-inspired livery (yep, denim) courtesy of RB’s tie-up with Hugo (the Italian fashion label, not some random bloke). It gets a denim-effect wrap along the nose and sidepods, and there’s even big zip along the engine cover.
Correct us if we're wrong, but we don't think we’ve seen one of those since that BAR half ‘n’ half car back in ‘99.
And then you’ve got McLaren’s effort, dubbed ‘Legend Reborn’. It’s meant to celebrate the team’s MP4 era, which arguably peaked in 1988 when the MP4/4 swept all before it at the hands of Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost.
Indeed, 13 McLaren drivers from that period of F1 history have their names etched onto the cockpit.
So, nothing quite as out there as McLaren’s Senna livery from Monaco earlier this year, but still a smattering of cars that’ll make you do a double take on Sunday. Which has the edge, d’you reckon?
