Honda and Sony have named their new car company AFEELA
And the first car will be delivered in Spring 2026…
Last year we brought you the news that Honda had signed a very official-sounding memorandum of understanding with Sony to create a new company that would build electric cars.
And now it’s starting to feel very real indeed, because said company has a name. Yep, your latest EV manufacturer to remember will be known as AFEELA.
Boss Yasuhide Mizuno unveiled the name at CES in Las Vegas alongside an updated version of the Sony saloon concept that we’ve been seeing for the past couple of years. There wasn’t really any additional car-based info offered though, and the word ‘car’ was actually barely used, AFEELA instead refers to the thing as a mobility prototype.
Still, we now know that said mobility prototype will actually reach production, with pre-orders beginning in the first half of 2025 and first deliveries in Spring 2026 in North America. Whether the yoke will be included remains to be seen…
