F1 Manager 2023 has landed on Xbox Game Pass
An appearance on the Max Verstappen podcast beckons…
Get ready to smash doors, prematurely end a Red Bull junior program driver’s career and contest the latest batch of five-second penalties to Ocon - F1 Manager 2023 is now part of the Xbox Game Pass library.
Frontier Developments’ management sim takes you out of the driver’s seat - a blessing, based on the state Piastri and co were left in after the Qatar GP - and makes you team principal, overseeing R&D, making strategic calls during the race, hiring and firing drivers and deciding how to budget for expansion of your facilities.
In our F1 Manager 2023 review we praised the way it lavishes realism on the right aspects, while leaving just enough leeway for some fantastical results. Like a car that isn’t dark blue taking the chequered flag, or a Ferrari lasting more than four laps on the same set of tyres.
“If you're fully immersed in the sport of F1,” reads our verdict, “and fancy a more cerebral challenge, or just an additional distraction from how dull this season has been so far, F1 Manager 23 is a polished, impressive offering.”
Xbox Game Pass brings a massive library of over 300 games to Xbox Series X and S, and PC. Microsoft hasn’t been shy about pushing up the monthly subscription price lately, and as a result the Ultimate monthly subscription tier currently stands at £12.99 in the UK.
That doesn’t seem to have hurt business though - the subscriber base is 20 million players big, and it’s growing.
