Here’s everything included in Star Wars: Outlaws’ £115 ultimate edition

A Jedi craves not these things

Published: 17 Apr 2024

Things are more expensive than they used to be. This much we know. But even during a cost of living crisis when we’re seriously considering buying tomorrow morning’s croissant on finance, the £115 price tag of Star Wars: Outlaws’ ‘ultimate edition’ seems steep.

There are three different editions of Ubisoft’s upcoming open world game, one of 2024’s most anticipated releases, starting with the £60 standard edition.

Then there’s the £95 gold edition, which includes the base game itself, a pre-order bonus pack consisting of cosmetic items for your speeder and Trailblazer spaceship, three days’ early access to the game and a season pass that adds an exclusive mission called ‘Jabba’s Gambit’ starring Jabba the Hutt, and more cosmetics.

Finally, the £115 ultimate edition includes all of the above, a digital art book, and two more cosmetics bundles that include skins for your character, weapons and vehicles.

The inclusion of an additional mission to the gold and ultimate editions has raised some eyebrows among fans – ring-fencing non-cosmetic game content before launch that could have been delivered as part of the base game is rarely well received.

The announcement about these different editions also caused some confusion as to whether Jabba the Hutt, the beloved amorphous blob whom the mission centres around, would appear in the base game if players didn’t buy the additional mission. Fans also wondered whether this mission would be available to buy after the game’s out, or if it’ll exist only as a pre-order bonus.

Ubisoft released a statement to Eurogamer which at least partially clears things up: "To clarify, Jabba the Hutt and the Hutt Cartel are one of the main syndicates in Star Wars: Outlaws and will be part of the experience for everyone who purchases the game, regardless of edition.

"The 'Jabba's Gambit' mission is an optional, additional mission with the Hutt Cartel along Kay and Nix's journey across the Outer Rim. This mission will be available to those who purchase the season pass or an edition of the game which includes the season pass."
