Nope, that’s not a Ford GT in JDM: Japanese Drift Master’s ‘Made in USA’ DLC, promise

The tyre-shredding racer returns with an all-American, license-baiting expansion on 6 November

Remember JDM: Japanese Drift Master? It was the drift-focused arcade racer that released earlier this year with bags of ambition, a mostly enjoyable open world and some very odd comic book storylines including seducing a buxom woman by, er, drifting a lot. Well, it’s back!

The Made in USA DLC pack arrives to trouble automotive IP lawyers on 6 November, and features classic transatlantic motors such as The Ironvale Thunderbolt T40, Ironvale Stallion ‘69, Taipan, Delray Vanquisher TR, Delray Venom and the Falcon HellFeather.

Don’t worry, you’re not having a stroke. At least, we sincerely hope not. These are all unlicensed, fictional vehicles which are simply (heavily) inspired by iconic US-made machinery.

Want to play a game of ‘guess the inspiration’? Have a look at the trailer and keep an eye out for definitely no Shelby Cobras, Dodge Vipers, Ford GTs, and certainly not a classic Firebird or Mustang in sight.

It’s priced at $5.99 (UK pricing TBC) which might seem a bit steep for a car pack, but they do all feature extensive customisation options, to the tune of 30 total parts for them.
