Project Motor Racing 2.0 update “rebuilds and refines major parts of the sim”
And it’s coming soon. Another racing sim that got a tough start in 2025 plots its glow-up
A bit of a mess. That’s how we described the ambitious but rough and ready Project Motor Racing at launch in our review last November, and we weren’t alone. Developer Straight4Studios has had plenty of ‘community feedback’, let’s say, in the wake of a release which felt slightly undercooked.
But it’s not done yet. The team’s planning a 2.0 update which addresses all that feedback and delivers the game that should have been there at launch, due at the end of March.
A few key areas the devs have focused on for this update are an updated user interface, a handling and physics overhaul, online experience tweaks, visual polish and some career mode improvements.
The game’s already dropped a new car for free as an apology to players - a 2013 Ford Falcon V8 Supercar. It’s also planning to release a new fictional track called High Rock Circuit.
It’s a substantial update, then, which should hopefully deliver on the game’s considerable promise. Maybe it’ll even mean we finally uninstall Project CARS 2 from our gaming PC.
