Hyundai i10 news - Slightly less slow - 2008
OK, it's about as sexy as lawn bowls, but we like the Hyundai i10. Mainly because it's cheap, but also because it's Actually Quite Good.
And now Hyundai's little city car looks set to get just a bit better with the introduction of a new range-topping (and never has that phrase looked more hyperbolic) 1.2-litre petrol engine.
Despite being 18 per cent more powerful than the current 1.1-litre engine - up to a mighty 76bhp - and 20 per cent more torqueful, the 'Kappa' engine retains the same fuel consumption and CO2 emissions as the smaller unit.
Happily, the 0-62mph time drops almost three seconds to 12.8 seconds, allowing you to overtake cyclists and pedestrians with something resembling ease.
The 1.2-litre i10 starts at £7,575. Told you it was cheap
