MG ZT-T estate news - MGs go under the hammer - 2006

The prospect of a load of used MGs at auction would not normally have us racing to make a phone bid but when there's 765bhp involved, we can feel those bidding arm muscle spasms kicking in.

The 765bhp monster in question is an MG ZT-T estate raced at the Bonneville Salt Flats Speed Trials and is therefore a peculiarly intriguing piece of MG history. It's up for auction on March 25 in Birmingham from Wyles and Hardy on behalf of MG Rover's administrators.

Among the other lots up for grabs are a prototype MG SV coupe, a former Gwyndaf Evans rally car and an MG TF 500 with a one-off Cosworth engine.
