Novitec’s Ferrari Roma Spider is a subtle conversion which unlocks over 200mph
Plus you get a new suspension and many carbon bits bolted onto the exterior
By Novitec’s lofty standards, its take on the Ferrari Roma is… fairly quiet. There are no outlandish canards or 59-mile-long spoilers, but don’t be fooled: the subtle looks are still paired with an extremely capable powertrain.
The Bavarian tuner has upped the output of the twin-turbo V8 to 714bhp and 651lb ft - an increase of 83 for the former and 90 for the latter. That’s also trimmed the run to 62mph down to 3.2s and nudged the top speed beyond 200. Impressive stuff for a car billed as a sporty grand tourer.
Mechanically, there’s very little else that’s been changed, but Novitec has mentioned that a newly sprung suspension setup is in place to drop the car by 35mm. That brings a bit more focus to the equally new 22in five-spoke Vossen alloys. Looks good, innit?
There's also a small body kit present that’s fairly well hidden beneath the black/gold colour scheme. It includes a new front lip to reduce lift at high speed (apparently), a revised front grille and new wing mirrors and rocker panels.
Likewise, the rear has also seen new trim elements slotted above the quad tail lights, while a revamped diffuser has been thrown into the mix to provide some company for the equally new exhaust tips. All this, if you hadn’t already guessed, has been made from carbon. Or Smarties. But probably carbon.
No word on pricing just yet for Novitec’s conversion, but you will need to cough up at least £210k for a Roma Spider to begin with.
