This £17k kit for the BMW M2 adds 124bhp and brings much more aggression

Dubbed the 'TR87' and offered by Autoid, the 0-62mph is also slashed by nearly a second

Published: 29 Jul 2024

Searching for a riled-up, hunkered-down G87 M2 that looks a bit naughtier and goes a lot quicker? Well, this is the ‘TR87’ from Chelmsford-based Autoid, and it’s exactly that.

It’s still powered by the original ‘S58’ twin-turbo straight-six, though it’s been fettled to now produce 578bhp (+124) and 490lb ft (+84). That results in a near-second quicker sprint from 0-62mph (3.2s) and the same 155mph top speed.

Anyway, you’ll also get a pretty dramatic carbon aero kit to help create extra downforce - 108kg at 120mph, to be exact - along with an active rear wing. The kit itself is claimed to be a ‘homage’ to the F87 M2 CS of old and includes various revisions to the front bumper, side skirts and rear splitter.

See that kidney grille? It’s a new two-slat split design that reminds us of a time when BMWs were less controversial, while there’s a Milltek exhaust out back that now channels even stronger vocals through the quad tips.

Beneath all that added muscle the TR87 will also boast an adjustable suspension kit, which not only lowers the car but is claimed to improve body control. It forms part of Autoid’s ‘Handling Package’, which features new springs, bushes and adjustable camber plates. There's a set of Yokohama AD08 performance tyres thrown in too.

Autoid quotes a quid under £13k for the TR87, while the handling package will set you back another £4,450 on top. Reckon the M2 needs it?
