EXCLUSIVE: listen to the new Jag F-Type

Published: 16 Sep 2012

If you were at Goodwood Festival of Speed last month, you might have seen - or heard - the new Jag F-Type as it strafed up the Hill. If not, have a watch of the video below, of Jag's development boss Mike Cross giving the cabrio-version a hard time between the hay bales and unbendy wall.

Jaguar, remember, has got high hopes for this car (as have we). Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar Global Brand director, told us in New York earlier this year: "Without a sports car, Jaguar is not Jaguar. It's like Porsche would be without a 911."

The car was in light disguise, modeled on some sort of psychedelic barcode. Peel it back, though, and it looks mostly like the C-X16 concept that wowed us in Frankfurt last year. And let's hope it sounds this good when the F Type launches as a canvas top in spring next year, followed by a properly roofed version sometime after.

But for now, put your speakers on. Feast your ears upon the V6 goodness. Then describe the sound using your very best English in the boxes below. The best will have their name printed in italics and bold on this very website.
