Lando Norris has co-founded his own junior racing team

Reigning F1 world champion and former Fiat 500 Jolly owner Lando Norris (those being his two biggest claims to fame) has established his own junior racing team, which will start competing throughout the motorsport ladder in 2027.

Co-founded by Lando and an investment firm led by business guru Dan Richards, the team will be called LN4 Fusion and will join single-seater grids including Italian F4, the Formula Regional European Championship (FRECA) and Formula 3 next year.

LN4 Fusion also wants to run in Formula 2 next season, but its application is yet to be rubber-stamped.

Norris has hired René Rosin – the man who founded and ran the Prema outfit that’s racked up countless junior titles this side of the millennium – to be Team Principal, while Julian Rouse will oversee the team’s young driver scheme.

It calls the LN4 Legacy Programme an "independent, fully funded driver development" operation, that will "identify and support exceptional young talent" by removing "financial barriers while providing drivers with access to the same calibre of coaching, mentoring and career support that helped shape Lando’s own career".

And Lando isn’t just the face of the brand – the world champ is reportedly putting his own money into this as his way of giving back to the sport. What a dude.

“I’ve been really lucky to have some amazing people around me throughout my career, and I know that getting to Formula 1 takes so much more than just talent,” Norris explains.

“You need the right people around you, the right support and the right opportunities at the right time.

“That’s what these two projects are all about. LN4 Fusion is about building a race team that can compete with the best in junior motorsport, with great people and a great environment for drivers to develop. The LN4 Legacy Programme is about helping talented young drivers get opportunities they might not otherwise have.

“For me, they naturally fit together. I want to help create opportunities for the next generation, both on and off the track, and hopefully make a real difference to young drivers coming through the sport.”
