Here’s your chance to buy an actual, real-life Decepticon from Transformers
Well, kinda. This modified Mustang played Barricade in Transformers: The Last Knight
This is a lightly used and lightly modified 2016 Ford Mustang GT that’s up for sale in the US through CURATED Vintage Supercars. It’s got the 5.0-litre V8 engine and the six-speed manual gearbox, and the asking price is… $499,000.
Wait, what?
Of course, this isn’t just any old Mustang. Heck, with a bit of imagination you could convince yourself that this isn’t even a car as we know it. That’s because this very thing is actually Barricade, the Decepticon police car from the 2017 film Transformers: The Last Knight.
Built for the film by Kustom Creations and purchased by Paramount in March 2016 for a supremely specific $131,970.80, this Mustang was given law enforcement-style graphics, a giant rear wing, full police lighting, a menacing front bumper, a widebody kit and plenty more besides.
Director Michael Bay actually bought the car from Paramount Pictures after its use in filming, and the sale includes a letter signed by him charting the car’s history. Pretty cool.
So, reckon you’d drop half a million dollars on a used Ford Mustang with 800 miles on the clock now that you know its Hollywood past? It’s cooler to own one of the bad guys, surely?
