The Subaru WRX is a drift-happy monster in this new trailer

'Baby Driver' is a new film that features some of the finest hoonery you'll see on screen

Published: 14 Mar 2017

Baby Driver is a new film by Edgar Wright, the man who brought you such excellence as SpacedHot Fuzz and Scott Pilgrim vs the World. And in the first trailer for Baby Driver, you'll spot much Subaru WRX drifty goodness.

This is because Mr Wright has correctly deployed the Scooby's 270bhp, all-wheel-drive setup to good use as a getaway car, capable of impossible drifts, J-turns and general top-shelf hoonery. Why on earth has nobody ever thought of putting the WRX front and centre in a heist movie?

There is a plot involving said getaway driver - named 'Baby' - meeting the girl of his dreams, a chance to escape his criminal life and coerced into performing a doomed heist etc etc, but really it's a chance to set the Scooby up against the city and let it loose. A Dodge Challenger even gets in on the action at some point.
