Video: the flip-cars in Fast & Furious 6

Published: 25 Apr 2013

The chaps who are in charge of the Fast & Furious franchise certainly know how to come up with new and inventive ways of utter vehicular destruction. Carnage with a capital ‘Oh Cock That's Not Gone Well'.

Here, for your delectation, is a WORLD EXCLUSIVE video clip detailing the fighty little 500bhp machines of death in the upcoming car flick Fast & Furious 6, out in cinemas on May 17th.

Apparently, director Justin Lin issued a dictum to the man in charge of the cars - Dennis McCarthy, who we spoke to earlier this year - to build something capable of driving head first into a moving vehicle and catapulting it several feet into the air. This is a good request.

McCarthy duly obliged...and embarked on one of the most difficult car builds he has encountered on a FF film. It's a custom-built frame with rear-wheel-steer, a ruddy great 500bhp V8 in the back and the capacity to turn oncoming traffic into free-form rollercoasters. We're also assured that every scene with a flip car pulverising said traffic is real. As in not CGI. This is good.

Have a watch of TG.com's WORLD EXCLUSIVE video below, with footage from the movie's London location. Want to know what other cars are in Fast & Furious 6? Follow the link for our interview with Dennis. And if all this still isn't enough, we've also been told that Fast & Furious 7 will hit screens in July 2014.

What should they come up with for number 7, Internet?
