Nissan news - Nissan to mind the gaps - 2006

Published: 16 Mar 2006

Nissan is going all nanny state on us with its latest gadget, the Distance Control Assist System.

As with other similar systems, Nissan's applies the brake if it feels the gap between you and the car in front is too small.

It will only do this when the driver is easing off the accelerator pedal or not touching the accelerator. A warning light and buzzer will also sound to let the driver know that the system is working.

Nissan expects the Distance Control Assist System will be in production cars within the next twelve months but has not said how much it will cost.
