Peugeot 207 news - Peugeot readies its 207 'mini - 2006
This summer will see the arrival of the Peugeot 207 which, you guessed it, replaces the 206 supermini.
The 207 is a little bigger than the 206 in every direction, while the styling is derivative rather than a sharp departure from its predecessor.
The car will initially available as a three- or five-door hatch based on the same platform as the 1007 model.
A saloon and estate will follow shortly afterwards, while a coupe convertible model is expected in mid-2007.
Six engines are on offer from launch, with three petrols and three turbodiesels, and all will have a five-speed manual gearbox as standard.
Towards the end of 2006, the 207 will be the first car in PSA Peugeot Citroen and BMW Group to use two new engines jointly developed by the French and German firms. There will be one petrol and one diesel.
Prices for the 207 are expected to closely follow those of the outgoing 206, so the range should start at around £9,500 for a 1.4-litre petrol model.
