Porsche 911 news - Dead on Targa - 2008

Porsche has released the Targa version of its new 911.

It gets the same technological upgradingness as the rest of the 911 range - direct injection engines, PDK double-clutch gearbox - and the same are-you-sure-you've-actually-changed-this visual enhancements.

So the Targa 4 now puts out 345bhp, while the Targa 4S, with the bigger 3.8-litre boxer six, develops 385bhp.

Naturally, both get permanent four-wheel drive, while the trademark sliding glass roof remains unchanged.

The 911 Targa goes on sale in the UK this October, with prices starting at £72,980.
