Porsche 911 Turbo news - All go for Turbo Cabrio - 2007
Teutonic efficiency dictated that the 911 Turbo Cabriolet would follow on a few months after the coupe model, so here it is.
The 911 Turbo Cabriolet has a hair-wrenching top speed of 193mph and gets from 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds if you opt for the Tiptronic S transmission.
Stick with the good old-fashioned manual and you're looking at a tardier four seconds.
The Cabrio is powered by the same 480bhp twin-turbo 'boxer' six-cylinder engine as the coupe.
It also has the overboost function of the coupe, so torque leaps from 457lb ft to 502lb ft during hard acceleration.
Tipping the scales at 70kg more than the coupe, the Cabrio uses many lightweight materials to compensate for the weight of extra structural strengthening and the three-layer fabric roof.
The 911 Turbo Cabriolet goes on sale in the UK from September 8 and will cost £106,180.
