Whatever happened to... the V8-powered Fittipaldi EF7?

Big promises from a big name: many litres of nat-asp goodness signed off by an F1 champ

What is it?

A driving lesson from double F1 world champion Emerson Fittipaldi – so long as you chuck him a couple of million for a track-only V8 supercar bearing his name. Originally conceived as a virtual-only racer for the Gran Turismo universe, a real life static model was shown at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.

Did they build any?

Despite Pininfarina design, German race team support from HWA Engineering and promises of a 4.8-litre atmospheric V8 cranking out 600 horsepower, Emmo’s driving school hit the skids in 2019 and never saw the light of day. Shame – apparently the veteran racer had personally decreed his car should be styled to look like a shark.

Where is it now?

While track-only supercars are common as muck these days, Fittipaldi Motors is completely defunct. Emerson himself lives in Italy and ran for local office in 2022. Sadly, he failed.
