Ferrari fined for ‘unsafe release of Luce EV’

Ferrari has been fined an undisclosed sum of money for the ‘unsafe release’ of the Luce EV, sources have told TopGear.com.

Despite decades of professional experience spent designing, building and releasing desirable luxury cars, the Italian manufacturer has been hit with a huge penalty for releasing something that looks nothing like a desirable luxury car.

Part of the fine has been suspended for 12 months barring any new additional colourways that make it look like a nauseatingly cheery character from an animated movie.

“The stewards heard from the team representative and reviewed online discussion surrounding Luce,” a statement said. “Luce was first announced many years ago and has since been treated to an unholy level of discourse concerning its design, drivetrain and philosophy.

"Luce then went forward with the team's head still looking down at its mood board and not at the fact it looked like a misshapen Nissan Leaf.

“The team acknowledged that for Luce to have been released in these circumstances was unsafe. The team committed to rescinding Luce from consumption and agreed to a full review to ensure an incident such as this will not be repeated.

“The stewards also noted that the team cannot win in any scenario concerning the release of an electric car,” the statement added.

Sources later reported the Luce was seen accidentally driving into a new electric Mercedes-AMG GT 4dr Coupe.
