Gallery: the mad Ariel Atom 4 at TG24

Bask in more pics of the 320bhp Atom doing its thing at Portimao

  • 320bhp, 595kg and - quite literally - nowhere to hide. The Ariel Atom 4 is one of TG24's contenders. Now that you've digested the changes made via this story, have a click through some more pics of the 4 doing its thang at Portimao.

  • Fun fact: our driver isn't actually moving here, just making 'vroom vroom' noises and waving the steering about. It kept him quiet for a while, in any case.

  • Also fun fact: it is impossible not to smile while driving an Ariel Atom 4.

  • As we told you here, the dash is fully digital and fully new. See that little blue knob? TURN IT. It's the seven-stage traction control system. Another little yellow knob on the right cycles through 220bhp, 290bhp and 320bhp modes. Blue one off, yellow one 320. Hold on tight.

  • 'Weeeeeeeeeeee' our man likely said, while executing a rather natty slide. Either that or a profanity we can't publish. On balance it's probably that last thing.

  • The devil's in the details, no?

  • Fun but totally inaccurate fact: helmets are a necessity not only for health and safety reasons, but also because the Atom's roof scoop has an appetite for hair follicles.

  • 'What's a 470- oh right, I geddit.'

  • An Atom on an apex. Like a Golden Retriever swallowing up a biscuit. Harmony.
