Ford Mustang GT350H news - Ford revives 1960s Mustang - 2006
Ford is plundering the Mustang heritage even further at the New York Auto Show with the Hertz version.
Playing on the original 1960s Hertz Mustangs that were built especially for the car hire firm and which anyone could rent, the new incarnation comes in the same black with gold striping - and only 500 will be built.
Many of the originals were hired to go racing, but the new model is purely for the road.
In recognition of its heritage, the new model takes the same GT350H name, while the 4.6 V6 engine gains an extra 20bhp to boost power to 325bhp.
The good news for Mustang fans is that Hertz is keeping with tradition and putting the GT350H on its rental books, which makes a trip to the US all the more appealing.
