Here are 10 excellent used Jaguars we found this week

Not ready to wave goodbye to supercharged engines and vintage design? We’ve got you covered

Jaguar Project 7
  • Jaguar XE 5.0 V8 Project 8

Kickstarting our Jag Special is a car bred for the track: the raucous XE-based ‘Project 8’. Just 300 were ever made, and this one’s been specced wonderfully in Fuji White with black accents and yellow calipers, plus an Ebony and Alcantara interior. Top speed? That’ll be 200mph. Your ears will pop well before that speed.

  • Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V12

    Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V12

Of course there'd be an E-Type. Finished in British Racing Green (correct) and sporting quad tailpipes, wire-spoked alloys and a sunroof, this is V12 motoring at its absolute suavest. It’s even got a manual ‘box (very correct).

  • Jaguar XJR L 5.0 V8

But we realise not everyone cares about going fast in circles or living their best jet-set lifestyle. So how’s an extended long-wheelbase XJR, with diamond-quilted seats, TV screens for rear seat riders and *purple* cloth storage compartments instead? We’re not making that last one up, and honestly, it’s fabulous. Just like everything else in this example.

  • Jaguar Mark II 3.4

    Jaguar Mark II 3.4

Villainous look? Check. Wonderful ride? Check. More walnut trim on the dash than you’ll find in an entire forest? Very Check. The silver exterior on this 1964 Mark II works well with the classic blue cabin, and that 3.4-litre straight-six under the bonnet probably hums sweeter than a brood of nightingales.

  • Jaguar XKR-S V8 Supercharged

In fairness, any version of this XKR could’ve found a place on this list based on styling alone. We've picked the ‘R-S’ trim: the nostrils, rear wing and all-round muscular appearance make it a 542bhp Midlands superhero.

  • Jaguar XK120 Drophead Coupe

    Jaguar XK120 Drophead Coupe

Popping over to Luxembourg anytime soon? Make sure you make it a one-way ticket because you could drive this XK120 Coupe back home… if you hand over €107,500 (£89,000). A fantastic version of what was once the fastest production car in the world, with just over 17k on the clock. Barely run in.

  • Jaguar F-Type 5.0 V8 Project 7

Or, if you fancy something with even fewer miles, here’s a super exclusive F-Type ‘Project 7’. It has similar colourways to the earlier Project 8 too: white paint and yellow calipers, albeit with grey accents. It’d make one hell of a two-car garage and cost you less than the price of a used Ferrari SF90. No contest here.

  • Jaguar XJS 5.3 V12 TWR Coupe

Jaguar XJS 5.3 V12 TWR Coupe

Here’s another skunkworks project by way of Tom Wilkinshaw Racing's XJS V12. Red paint, long frock and some boxy design cues to stitch it all together - perfect. Its two former keepers have done just 35,800 miles in its near 40-year life too, and it shows.

  • Jaguar XFR 5.0 V8

    Jaguar XFR 5.0 V8

The most affordable car on this list by some margin, and that’s despite this one being one of the more expensive examples on the used car market. The Jaguar XFR is about as usable and dynamic as super saloons come. The supercharger whine complementing the eight-cylinder soundtrack is the cherry on a very, very sweet cake.

  • Wildcard: Jaguar XJ220

    Jaguar XJ220

Alas, we arrive at Jaguar’s finest hour: the little-known 'XJ220'… which can’t actually do 220mph, as its name suggests. Still, 217mph meant it held the production car top speed record for a while, and that sweeping silhouette remains as distinctive as they come. Here’s a minter for a very reasonable £425k. Who needs a house anyway?
