Here's a used B7 Audi RS4 cabriolet for just £10k
A 414bhp V8 Audi drop-top with a redline of over 8k and a manual box for 10 grand? A big fat yes, please
Audi only ever built around 10,000 B7-generation RS4s, with less than a sixth of them being cabriolets. So they’re rare. We’ve found a quite sumptuous example with 99,000 on the clock for just £9,995. Frankly, a Champions League evening under the lights at the Emirates costs more these days.
Unlike Arsenal’s relationship with Europe’s premier club competition, the RS4 has actual pedigree. Lots of it. Mostly thanks to that all-natural 4.2-litre V8, which cranks 414bhp at the flywheel and redlines at 8,250rpm. Better still, all that brute force is sent through a six-speed manual to all four Quattro-fied wheels to make for a wonderfully balanced drive.
On the styling front, it’s typical Audi: straight lines accentuated by taut surfaces, bulging wheel arches and a low-squat stance. These cabriolet models don’t have the sharper rear taillights seen on the hard-top models, but we think they suit the arrow-straight rear deck line rather well. Especially with that partitioned splitter in place.
Admittedly, the cabin does look like it’s getting on a bit. The cream upholstery still retains most of its quality, but creases have started to show. A fair bit of dust and dirt have started to settle too, so a few weekends’ worth of TLC will be required to mop these blemishes up.
Regardless, its 10 grand for an open-top, manually-driven, eight-cylindered screamer from a simpler time. If that’s not a classified bargain, we’re not sure what is.
