Behind the scenes: here's how Singer 'reimagines' the Porsche 911
Specifically, how it reimagines a 911 into a naturally aspirated, glorious wide body hero with pop up lights
"It's all about how the car sits on the road," said Singer founder Rob Dickinson. That, he said, is how you spot a Porsche 911 reimagined by Singer. "It's a relationship of the tyres to the wheels, and the tyres and wheels to the bodywork.
"And I call that, like everybody else, stance. The car has a handsome, righteous stance," he added.
So, there you have it. Singer starts from the ground up - literally - to make sure each of its meticulously engineered products has got good stance. Obviously there's much more to it than that: a chassis restored using methods developed in consultation with the 'big brains' over at Red Bull Advanced Technologies. A screaming Cosworth 4.0-litre. Carbon fibre bodywork. And of course, pop-up headlights.
So, allow Top Gear's Tom Ford to take you behind the scenes at Singer's facility here in the UK, to get an idea of what goes into making one of these things...
