Spy vid: watch the 503bhp Alfa Romeo Giulia go mad on the ‘Ring

Video: Italy's upcoming BMW M3 rival gets a punishing workout at the Nürburgring

Read more on:

Footage has emerged from a test day at the Nurburgring, in which a test mule that looks very much like the 503bhp, M3-rivalling Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio is being given a more than half-decent workout by a fully committed test pilot. You’ll spot it squirreling, squirming and shrieking a path around the tortuous confines of the Nordschleife with merry abandon.

Which makes us happy. We’re very much looking forward to this four-door M3/C63 rival, with its ‘Ferrari-inspired’ twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6, its 503 horsepowers and 0-62mph time of 3.9 seconds. Three point nine!

Then there’s that body, clothed in aluminium for the doors and wings, and that sophisticated double-wishbone suspension too. Drive of course, is to the rear, with carbon ceramic brakes, and lots of downforce thanks to active splitters and diffusers and sheer Italian sub-zero cool.

Click here for more info on the new Giulia, but before you head off, make sure you spend a few moments watching the above video.

If we were betting sorts, we’d wager that front splitter might have to be raised at least a couple of centimetres for production, lest a Giulia driver accidentally removes the front of his new car on, say, a misplaced Rizla paper…
