Volkswagen Polo news - VW Polo: now with less doors - 2009

Read more on:

It’s the news you’ve been waiting for: the new three-door VW Polo is now available to order.

Very much like the five-door Polo - but with two fewer doors and, er, two fewer door handles - the three-door starts at £9,435, a whopping £600 cheaper than its slightly larger cousin.

It’s available with the same range of engines as the five-door - a 1.4-litre and two 1.2-litre petrols, plus a pair of 1.6-litre diesels - with first deliveries expected in January.

Because we’re a bit ashamed that we haven’t managed to think of any way to make this story sound more interesting, here’s the new Polo advert. It’s a weird retro mash-up of Grease and Back To The Future which might be a bit cool but we’re not absolutely sure.

Yeah, we concede it’s the five-door - making the link even more tenuous - but you’re still going to watch it, aren’t you?
