Watch the McLaren P1… on ICE
You may have noticed a strange orb in the sky emitting a very faint, but welcome incandescence. It's called the ‘Sun'. Say hello to it. It's been a bit of a stranger of late.
But, while you're out sporting your best sock/sandal combo and eating soggy cucumber sandwiches in the back garden, spare a thought for the McLaren P1. The superlative McLaren supercar has not been allowed to bathe in the glow of a record 10-degree UK heat. No. It's been packed off to a frozen lake in a colder part of the world and told to work.
Why? Because development of this astonishing 916bhp petrol-electric machine is coming to an end, with just enough time to carry out some more testing. On ice. More specifically, some ice in the Arctic Circle in northern Sweden.
Have a watch of the video below to see the P1's 903bhp kick out the rear wheels and have a bit of fun. All in the name of durability testing, naturally. Once development has been completed - and it's nearly there - McLaren is planning a number of ‘dynamic displays' across the summer, so keep your eyes peeled.
