This Audi car advert features a skiier, but no snow

Car adverts traditionally featured, y’know, cars.

Nowadays, though, tight rules on just how committedly they can be driven (not very, in summary) mean carmakers need to seek more obtuse ways of ramping up excitement for the product. They need to get inventive.

With winter on the way, Audi could have tried to sell its Quattro all-wheel-drive system with some RS models burbling away in the snow.

Instead, though, it’s crafted a 1:55 long advert in which a car features for barely 20 seconds. There's plenty of skiing, but no snow. At all.
