Interior

What is it like on the inside?

The cabin of the Chevrolet is very sensible and doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel when it comes to utility or passenger comfort. Chevy makes the most of the space on hand and everything pretty much functions as expected.

Fold everything down and there’s a substantial 97.60cu ft (2,763 liters) of cargo space, with 22.9 cu ft (648 liters) available if you leave everything as is. The rows lay quite flat so utilizing the given volume is a breeze.

If you have more people in your life than things, congrats, first of all, but also know that they too will have ample room for their comfort. The second row captain’s seats provide up to 44.3 inches of leg room and up to 42 inches of headroom (40 inches with a sunroof).

Thankfully, the third row isn’t short-changed as much as it usually is, and rear occupants can make use of up to 32.1 inches of leg space. The numbers really don’t do it justice – just know that grown adults will fit in all rows without much complaining. Well, no more than usual.

How is the tech?

Again, fairly decent and functional. Up front, the 17.7-inch touchscreen dominates the dashboard and though the interior is still quite screen-dependent, the Traverse is fitted with at least the bare minimum of physical controls for priority functions like volume and HVAC. The GM infotainment UI is substantial but it’s customizable, meaning drivers can arrange the apps to their liking and even prioritize favorites on a toolbar for quick access.

In terms of safety, there are plenty of systems included as standard like automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist and automatic braking for pedestrians at low speeds. On offer are extra features like parking assists, adaptive cruise control, and systems that provide more situational awareness when it comes to surrounding hazards.
