Buying

What should I be paying?

The boot is small for an SUV, at 407 litres seats-up. Fortunately, it's redeemed by a deep second level below the floor, taking it to 551 litres. Only trouble is the versions with a full-size spare see that underfloor space shrink to nothing.  Still, kudos to SsangYong for offering that option to people who live in, or venture to, remote places where a spare-less puncture would turn them to carrion.

Diesel consumption figures go like this. It's 48.7mpg for the FWD auto, and 43.5 for the 4WD auto.

The warranty is hard to top, at seven years and 150,000 miles. For the diesels, expected insurance groups are 25-26. Because of the strong body and the electronic safety features, SsangYong is confident of a five-star NCAP rating.
