This is why and how you need to adapt during the Dakar Rally

You can’t predict what’s going to happen during the Dakar Rally. So you need to think fast

When you boil it down, the Dakar Rally runs like any other rally. Just bigger. A lot bigger.  The stages include road sections, but the emphasis is firmly on escaping the tarmac and pushing everyone involved to the extreme. 

Given the rally stretches over two weeks, it’s impossible to predict what’s going to happen. Every day there’s mechanical, meteorological and strategic challenges to contend with. So in order to succeed at the Dakar you must be able to adapt.
