Racing doesn’t get more hostile than this year’s Dakar Marathon Stage
Audi’s Dakar campaign has got to the Marathon Stage. But what is it?
If racing for two weeks across some of Saudia Arabia’s most treacherous and unforgiving landscape wasn’t hard enough, the 2023 Dakar Rally has reached one especially inhospitable corner the Rub’ al-Khali, or Empty Quarter. It is, quite literally, a sea of sand. And here they will face a two day ‘Marathon Stage’ where all outside assistance is also prohibited. Tests of four-wheeled endurance don’t get tougher than this.
*This vehicle shown here is the Rally Dakar vehicle that is not available as a production model. Closed course, professional driver. Do not attempt. The Audi RS Q e-tron combines an electric drivetrain with an energy converter system comprising a TFSI engine and generator.
