This Alfa 6C is the loveliest car you'll see today
Is the (deep breath) 6C 3000 CM Pininfarina Superflow IV the prettiest Alfa ever?
Girls and boys, we give you the Alfa Romeo 6C 3000 CM Pininfarina Superflow IV. A long name for a car with a very long rear overhang.
But isn’t it lovely? It’s the only one in existence, and it’ll be on display at the Salon Privé concours event in Oxfordshire at the end of August.

It fits neatly between those, for like the 4C and 8C, the number denotes its cylinder count. So a 3.5-litre straight-six provides around 275bhp, driving the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. No performance figures, but with only around a tonne to power, they’re probably sprightly.
An Alfa 6C came second in the 1953 Mille Miglia road race – with a man called Juan Manuel Fangio driving, you might have heard of him – and afterwards, two of eight 6Cs produced were given to coachbuilders for a restyling.

Or rather Plexiglass. This had its roots in racing, don’t forget, so lightness was still key. Want to go really lightweight? The Superflow IV can also morph into an open top spider if you wish.
To properly channel your inner Lady Penelope (or Parker) you’ll want to keep the roof in place, though. But with such stunning styling, driving it down a busy street might put you on show a fair bit…
Want to see it in person? Salon Privé starts on August 31 at Blenheim Palace.
