This is Skoda's new entry level EV and it's Epiq

Following the Superb comes another Skoda that thinks rather highly of itself – the Czech carmaker has revealed its new Epiq electric SUV at the Munich motor show. 

It’s part of Volkswagen’s ‘Electric Urban Car Family’, so it’s Mladá Boleslav’s take on the Volkswagen ID. Polo and Cupra Raval. The important numbers? The car gets a roomy 475-litre boot, up to 264 miles of range and the company says the price of the new Epiq will largely track its combustion-engined sibling, the Kamiq, which starts at £25k and tops out at £32k. 

The dinky crossover gets Skoda’s latest family face and T-shaped rear lights, some sharp creases down the side and a thick C-pillar that will make rearview parking cameras a must-fit purchase. Inside, we’ve not managed to get a look at the car, but Skoda promises there are the usual array of hooks, compartments and clever details. Even some useful buttons on offer, too. 

There are no further powertrain clues from Skoda either, but we can safely assume that it'll match its VW Group siblings. 

The coy approach is because - like VW's ID. Cross - this is still technically a concept car, according to Skoda – maybe it had booked the Munich show stand and needed something to fill it up. The final production version will be revealed in the middle of 2026 and go on sale shortly after.
