Has Maserati just shown us the 1,200bhp all-electric GranTurismo?
Upcoming EV photobombs Maserati’s latest Formula E announcement...
Maserati has announced that it’s teaming up with ROKiT Venturi Racing for its 2023 Formula E entry, and in a sneaky move to get everyone in the automotive world writing about this, the bosses of the two firms shook hands in front of what looks to be the long-promised GranTurismo Folgore EV.
If this is the final design then we’re very much on board. Even with the slight camouflage it’s recognisably GranTurismo with a fantastic profile, but there’s an updated grille and new lights up front too.
Maserati confirmed just a few weeks ago that there would be a tri-motor powertrain option for the next-gen GT, with more than 1,200bhp and a 0-62mph time of under three seconds. Good grief.
It also promised ‘best-in-class handling’ and ‘top-class charging’. Not asking for much of its engineers, then.
More as we have it...
