Yet another new Hispano Suiza hypercar is coming, now with a big rear wing

The Carmen Sagrera is going to be a mad electric hyper GT with a 103kWh battery

Published: 20 Feb 2024

Hispano Suiza is set to unveil the third iteration of its all-electric Carmen hypercar, although given how little we’ve heard from the company in the last few years you’d be forgiven for completely forgetting the first one.

A quick recap, then. It was back in 2019 when the first Carmen was first unveiled as a two-seat, 1,005bhp hyper-GT. That was at the Geneva Motor Show, and there was serious beef as another company calling itself Hispano Suiza rocked up with a 1,085bhp twin-turbo V10 supercar.

But the EV Hispano Suiza project ploughed on, and in 2020 we saw the lightweight 1,098bhp Carmen Boulogne. Just five of those were planned for production, and one was actually delivered in 2022. It was extremely purple.

And now we’re about to get the Carmen Sagrera. Named after the La Sagrera district of Barcelona where the original Hispano Suiza established its first large factory in 1907, it’ll be unveiled in mid 2024 and will get a larger 103kWh battery for improved range. The previous Carmen Boulogne apparently managed around 250 miles from its 80kWh battery.

And from the teaser images you can see above we know that the Sagrera will be getting a rather massive carbon fibre rear wing. That’s about it on the info front for now though, so we’ll report back with more when we have it. And who knows, we might actually get to drive one at some point…
