Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster confirmed
Mercedes has lopped the roof off the AMG GT – here’s your first glimpse of it
In a late contender for 2016’s least surprising news story, Mercedes has confirmed that two years after the Coupe was revealed, there will be an AMG GT Roadster. It will make its debut at the Paris show on September 29th and a moody teaser video gives us a carefully-shaded idea of how it will look ahead of its full reveal…
Much like an AMG GT without a roof, it seems, but there is some useful information that can be gleaned. For example, like the SLS AMG Roadster it will use a proper fabric roof, not a lardy tin-top, and this C model – likely to have 456bhp - is just the beginning. A 503bhp S version of the Roadster, is expected to follow, while the Coupe will get a range-topping Black Series variant, hotter even than the 577bhp AMG GT R, towards the end of its life cycle.
Further concrete details on Merc’s 911 cabrio rival are woefully thin on the ground for now, but we’ll have all the answers to your burning questions when the AMG GT C Roadster raises its head in Paris in a few weeks. So go on then, what do you want to know?
