There’s a new Vauxhall logo, and it’ll be bolted onto the ‘STX’ estate

Vauxhall is building an estate car concept called the ‘Sports Tourer Experimental’. We have limited knowledge at this stage, other than it being a) a sports tourer, b) ‘experimental’, and c) a Vauxhall.

Specifically on c), a Vauxhall with a new Vauxhall logo. That’s it above, using a dandy new font, with a dandy new Griffin that’s had a glow up – or rather, been pared right down. Curves and indents are so last decade, dahling.

It does look funky, though. As does the STX concept, at least from the teaser images we’ve been sent. Vauxhall said the new estate is “the brand’s vision for the future of the estate car”. That it thinks this bodystyle has a future is good enough news for now.

The ‘Vizor’ design language has been updated here, with a new light signature, “flush body surfacing”, and a body and elements honed by aero.

“We were pioneers of the estate in the UK as early as the 1950s,” said Vauxhall UK boss Eurig Druce. “With the STX Concept, we want to show Vauxhall’s vision for the future of this body style.”

We’ll see the finished result on 12 October at the Paris Motor Show – yep, those still exist too!
