Brace for impact: Lego is taking over another F1 drivers’ parade!

Remember Miami? This time every driver will have their own car… collisions are inevitable

Published: 02 Jul 2026

Well this is most excellent news: after delivering the most memorable lap of the entire F1 season in Miami last year, Lego is once again providing the machinery for the pre-race drivers’ parade, this time ahead of the British Grand Prix on Sunday. Woo hoo!

Only Lego has taken its Miami idea and made it… more. No twin-seaters this time, all 22 drivers will get their own minicar comprising 28,000 bricks and a combined 6,400 hours of painstaking assembly. Cor.

The cars weigh around 280kg apiece, with 64 of those kilos being Lego bricks and the rest – including standard go-kart tyres – parts to make the things actually, y’know, move.

And boy do they move. At up to 15.5mph, with just enough juice to complete one flying lap of Silverstone’s 3.66-mile circuit. So basically on par with this year’s Aston, then.

"We always listen to our fans, and it was clear from the 2025 Miami Grand Prix Drivers Parade that both fans and drivers wanted more,” said Julia Goldin, chief product and marketing officer of the LEGO Group. “We’re back with a 2.0 version in a brand-new format, bringing even more fun and excitement to the parade.”

The cars were put together by a crack team of 20 designers at the same factory in Kladno, Czech Republic where the Miami cars were assembled.

Those contained 400,000 bricks each, and the drivers still drove them like heavily sponsored dodgems… so we can’t imagine they’ll be driving these with any more care and attention.

Perfect. Bring it on.
