Treat yourself to these stunning pics of the 2019 F1 season
New book showcases the work of Darren Heath, and shows Formula 1 in a whole different light

News that a heavily curtailed 2020 F1 season will get going at the Red Bull Ring in Austria next month, in front of empty grandstands, had us dreaming of the halcyon days of 2019. The drama, the noise, the people standing less than 2m apart…
Fortunately, you can relive Hamilton’s sixth world championship season through the lens of one of F1’s most talented photographers, Darren Heath, now in his 31st year covering the sport.
Art of the Race V19, the sixth annual instalment of Heath’s work, is 256 pages of F1 eye candy as seen by a man who finds beauty in the tiniest of details and angles that others can’t. It’s also beautifully produced, not the size of a paving slab, doesn’t cost the earth and isn’t inexplicably presented entwined in the exhaust manifold from a 360 Modena. Rare qualities in a coffee table book these days.
It’s available to pre-order now, with deliveries in September, costing £24.95. If you’re really keen there are 300 copies signed by Dazza himself and the full back catalogue can be found at www.artofpublishing.net.
