Yep, we’re obsessed with this Toyota GT86 in an AE86’s frock

Here’s something you need to see. Heck, if you’re currently in Japan we’d argue that you should head down to the Tokyo Auto Salon this weekend to see it in person, because it’s a brand new bodykit that transforms the Toyota GT86 coupe into a proper AE86 homage.

And yes, it even has pop-up headlights and vintage yellow fogs. We need it now!

It’s the work of Osaka-based tuner Result Japan, and it’s calling the kit NEO86. We know that pre-orders are kicking off at the Auto Salon on the weekend, but we don’t know how much it’ll all cost and what’s actually included.

This show car clearly has a widebody kit, new wheels, super square bumpers and a ducktail spoiler. It also gets that classic Initial D-spec AE86 paintjob, and to our eyes it just works.

Bring back pop-ups, right?
