The 544bhp GRC Beetle sounds insane

Earlier this year we got wind of the VW Global Rallycross Beetle. A fiery little bugger with an even more fiery 544bhp.

Today, we have video of this little nutjob. The above video shows GRC driver and Top Gear USA presenter Tanner Foust hooning about a closed track with VW's new toy. There is tyre smoke. There is gratuitous donuting. It even cocks a back wheel at one point.

You'll agree that it looks quite, quite mad. Slightly more mad than the already quite mad 500bhp ‘Superbeetle' we tested late last year...
