Spielberg’s new ‘Bullitt’ movie will star Bradley Cooper
Cooper will take on the role of detective Frank Bullitt in the not-a-remake
There’s a new Bullitt movie in the works, with filmmaker Steven Spielberg at the helm. Deadline is now reporting that superstar Bradley Cooper will take on the role of the iconic detective Frank Bullitt.
Apparently both Cooper and Spielberg have been talking about resurrecting McQueen’s most famous character for over two years; a character involved in one the best car chases ever committed to film.
There’s no word on what the plot of the new Bullitt will focus on. Deadline’s sources say it won’t be a remake of that Sixties classic but a new idea centred around Bullitt’s character.
Apparently Cooper will produce the film alongside Spielberg, while Steve McQueen’s son and granddaughter take up executive producing roles. To the inevitable, then – surely they’ll put in a momentous car chase, so what car do you reckon a modern Frank Bullitt would use?
